There was a time when Jaunpur was known for its education and at that time importance was given to fundamentals teachings of Islam in every home in our community. Gradually things have changed and level of education start decreasing.
In 17 th and 18 th century, this district was famous for cotton clothes industry and perfume industry. In 15 th century, this weal resident of this district participated whole heartedly in Mahadevi movement
The economic development of Jaunpur District is mainly dependent on agriculture. The chief cause of this is the absence of industries which has led to many residents of this district to move to other cities of Western India , but now due to discrimination against them in these cities bu certain groups , industries are setting up in Jaunpur , following the industrial development in Bihar. Now industries are coming up on Varanasi Jaunpur highway. A cotton mill is operational near Karanja Kala. Animal husbandry also constitutes a sector of economy of Jaunpur District.
But inefficiency and beaurocracy at state and Central govt has led to no power supply by PVVNL and Irrigation and drinking water supply by UPWSRP (Uttar Pradesh Water Supply ) especially in regions between the Mariahu- Machchisaher tehsils, and the residents should fight with the Govt and teach them a lesson in the election if these basic amenities are ignored
