Sher Shah Suri - Pashtun king

Farid Khan Sher Shah Suri was an Afghan (specifically of the Ghilzai tribe),He first served as a private before rising to become a commander in the Mughal Army under Babur and then as the governor of Bihar. In 1537, when Babur's son Humayun was elsewhere on an expedition, Sher Khan overran the state of Bengal and established the Sur Empire.His grandfather, Ibrahim Khan Sur, was a noble adventurer who was recruited much earlier by Sultan Bahlul Lodi of Delhi during his long contest with the Jaunpur Sultanate.Sher Shah fled from home to serve Jamal Khan, the governor of Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh, Sher Shah was a visionary ruler and introduced many military and civil reforms. The system of tri-metalism which came to characterise Mughal coinage was largely the creation of Sher Shah Suri. He also minted a coin of silver which was termed the Rupiya that weighed 178 grains and was the precursor of the modern rupee.

Jaunpur : An ambedkar district of Purvanchal

Jaunpur district is located to the northwest of the district of Varanasi in the
eastern part of the North Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. According to the 2001 census,
Jaunpur district had a population of 3,911,678, with the urban area having accounting
for 168,851 people i.e
almost 96% population of Jaunpur is rural agricultual population which are socially and economically backward
. Demographically, Jaunpur resembles the rest of the Purvanchal area
in which it is located: a primarily rural agricultural population with high illiteracy
and low human development index


Any region can progress, when its people are socially as well as economically
developed.
There is a need to make them a part of developmental process and make the life of
rural people better. To convert the above vision in reality, rural people must be
facilitated with rural infrastructure development, hygenic living, better housing,
better health services & family welfare, social securities, land reforms, and
employment etc. To achieve the above target, government launches different
developmental schemes. Dr. Ambedkar Gram Sabha Vikas Vibhag, documents/monitors
the progress of developmental schemes and coordinates with the various department for
effective implementation of schemes.

he excitement of starting a new job can, sometimes, overshadow our attitude on how to act to the new work environment. On many occasions we are so excited on our new career path, that we often come across as objectionable or know it all. At other times, we look as if we are lost. Starting on a new job can be overwhelming. Our nerves are usually shuttered by the time we get into our new place of work and meet everyone.

There are a few tips that one can take into consideration when starting a new job. The most important is to make sure you arrive on time. It leaves a bad impression when a new employee, on his/her first day of work, arrives five minutes late. It doesn’t matter if the traffic was bad. That’s no excuse. When the new employee arrives to work, he/she has to be pleasant, smiling and friendly. No one wants to meet a new employee who looks nervous and has a solemn face. But also don’t look too excited and giggle all the time.

Introduce yourself to the people you meet with a firm handshake, a smile on your face, and stating your name clearly. Make sure you have a notepad with you to take notes of anything of importance, like names and titles. Familiarize yourself with the building; where the conference rooms are, the bathrooms, the stairs, elevators, coffee stations. Usually, the first day is quite easy. People will let the new employee acquaint himself/herself with the new work environment. It’s a few days later that the real work begins.

Once you are shown into your new desk/cubicle, or office, look at the files that are left there from your predecessor. Thus, you will be able to familiarize yourself on your work duties in case anything was left out when you were offered the job. Read through any flyers or pamphlets that the company has. You will become more familiar with what the company does. If there is a plant attached or in the building, ask for a tour, to see how and what’s been manufactured or produced. Appear eager to learn, ask questions to find out more about the company. This will enable you to learn the company’s functions better, thus helping you do your job better. Read the company’s manual, if there is one. Ask for what the dress code might be. Certain companies have different dress codes. Dressing appropriately to the company’s code will help your career and keep you out of the Human Resources office.

As you become more familiar with the company and the job, get involved in after work activities. You will end up making friends, and thus helping you in anything you might need. Make yourself known throughout the company by either helping your coworkers or getting involved in projects from other departments. Stay late, if you have to, to finish a project or a presentation for the next morning. Be supportive and helpful to your colleagues. You will be well respected and well thought off.

Overall, adjusting to a new job and work environment can be intimidating. By having a positive attitude, pleasant personality, and work hard, will make it much easier to enjoy the new job and environment.

Bihar set to celebrate its new confidence

Young and old will exchange greeting cards, like they do at New Year’s; there will be nukkad nataks (streetside theatre) in Patna and shram daan in every village where 99 lamps will be lit to mark the number of years since the state was separated from the Bengal presidency in 1912. Schools will display a map of the state with “Hamara Bihar” inscribed in it.

The Bhojpuri film industry, which turned 50 a few days ago, will be celebrated with shows of Bhojpuri films and documentaries and films located in Bihar — like Basu Bhattacharya’s soulful Teesri Kasam, based on Renu’s short story, shot in Araria. The newly-selected “Bihar gaan” or state anthem will be played. Entries for the anthem as well as a prarthna or daily prayer have been invited from the people by the government.

These are just a few of the things planned by the Nitish Kumar government for the 99th Bihar Divas on March 22 in what is being seen as a politically innovative way to take charge of the state’s unfolding story and find an evocative symbol of pride, aspiration and confidence.

So long, said officials involved with this project, Bihar has been known as the country’s basket-case, sending migrants across the country, many to face Raj Thackeray-style hate campaigns. This is meant to begin changing that perception — at home.

According to Anjani Kumar Singh, principal secretary HRD, the Bihar Divas celebrations will extend from two to five days in Patna and other parts of the state; some events will continue into the next year. Celebrated officially for the first time last year, it is scheduled to be even grander in 2012, he says, when, “as in the case of the foundation days of Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat, it will be celebrated in other states as well”.

Purvanchal should be created for socio economic development

when the whole of India is ready and surging forward , including states Bihar, Rajasthan , etc are improving , then Uttar Pradesh cannot afford to get left behind especially the Eastern part of UP called Purvanchal.
Many Purvanchal leaders are actively seeking formation of Purvanchal - the birthplace of Lord Rama to be created as a seperate State for socio-economic development and the reasoning is also very justified , the cultural,social , topographical , linguistical and emotional setting of Purvanchal and Purvanchal is different than rest of the State and also the region needs a impetus in socio economic development .
One Mr Giri (in chaste Bhojpuri ) says " we are culturally similar to Western Bihar , South Nepal , North MP and Chattisgarh regions of Bhojpuri and Awadhi speaking people , and the demand for seperate state for Purvanchal is utterly justified and also outmost necessary."

Amar Singh Thursday said there was no politics behind his demand for creation of an independent Purvanchal state out of this region. My sole aim is to fight for the cause of Purvanchal and I have no intention of playing any politics in the name of creation of that state,' he said, addressing a rally that marked the culmination of his month long 'yatra'.

Moreover , What Purvanchal needs to do is follow the footsteps of his Big Brother Bihar in all development policies for socio-economic changes in this region.

Bihar Day on March 22

Bihar Day on March 22 — the day on which the state was separated from Orissa in 1912.
The event is organized every year on this day to celebrate the birth of the state since last year.
Those hailing from Bihar but living in Bangalore, Chennai, Calcutta and Mumbai, too, celebrate the day in their respective places. Bihar Day celebration is the brainchild of the chief minister , Nitish Kumar.
Nitish Kumar has said “It is always better to be known as a Bihari rather than identifying oneself with a caste”.

China to cooperate with Bihar in several sector

China is interested in developing cooperation with Bihar in the economic, cultural and infrastructure sectors and to begin with, the Chinese government has donated $1 million for the development of Nalanda International University.

This was stated by the Chinese envoy to India, Zhang Yan, here on Thursday after holding meeting with chief minister Nitish Kumar. The two held talks for over half-an-hour and both said it was very fruitful and meaningful. The envoy was accompanied by his wife, Chen Wangxia.

Yan congratulated Nitish for the economic development of Bihar, and also extended an invitation to the CM to visit Beijing.
To a query by TOI about the nature of cooperation between China and Bihar, Yan said since China saw Bihar as a fast developing economy , there could be joint efforts to expand cooperation.

Bihar is a major agriculture state, just as China is. We can work together for developing scientific methods for establishing agro industries. Food is getting more expensive around the world and agriculturally developed regions can help reduce food inflation, Yan said.

The ambassador, who arrived on a two-day visit, first by a Chinese diplomat after a long time, will visit Nalanda on Friday. He would hold discussions with the chancellor and vice-chancellor of Nalanda University and also see the Xuan Zang memorial hall, named after the legendary Chinese traveller. Yan visited Patna museum too and was quite impressed with the items on display.

But among this good news there was also a news that three suspious Chinese person were arrested in Uttar Pradesh recently but later it was known that They were Chinese tourists visting India.
