Bhaang Thandai - Bhole Baba Ka Parsaad

Extracted from the Cannabis plant (Cannabis indica),
Bhang is an intoxicant which is known to be a stress reliever.
Bhang is often associated with Lord Shiva, and his followers,
the Naga Sadhus of the Kumbha Mela, are often seen smoking Cannabis.

Bhaang Thandaai is very famous in Purvanchal , Bihar and Nepal , and it is associated with Kashi Vishwanath Mandir in Kasi and PashuPatinath Mandir in Nepal.
People tend show one of their emotions (rasa) without inhibitions

There are many forms in which bhaang can be consumend especially during holi and Mahashivratri occassions. Like , bhaang kachodi , thandaai , bhaang mithaai and sweets , some people are prefer to have bhaang flavoured snacks other the the main
form in which it is consumed which bhaang Thandaai.

If bhang is takem with happiness and in the name of Lord shiva ,
It has a magical effect on one's body and mind.

The benefits of bhang

In many parts of the country, people consume bhang before their
main meal because they believe it not only enhances the taste of the food,
it also improves digestion.

The practice of making bhang a part of the happy events in one’s
life goes back to at least a thousand years.

While some believed it was
an enjoyment not to be missed, especially during celebrations,
others firmly believed it was beneficial to health.

Physically, bhang is said to be good for so many ailments from indigestion to
fever to dullness.

Mentally, it is said to make you very alert.
And spiritually, it is supposed to raise you to the plane of ecstasy.

According to traditional nutritionists, it is a complete food that
corrects any deficiency in the body and strengthens the immune system

Bhang and music

Besides Holi, bhang is popular at music festivals too.

Mixed into flour which has spices added, it is then made
into papads or poppadoms which are carried into the venue.

With bhang inside you, the sound of music affects all your senses,
filling you with joy with each note that is played or sung. And at time,
some people can get this feeling without having bhaang too (citation needed)

A plant you probably wouldn’t notice if you didn’t know –
and it has such power.

The potent way it affects the mind, body and soul is something that stays on in the memory long
after the last bit of colour of Holi is washed off.

Negative Points

Just like every thing has good and bad effects , even bhaang plant has negative effect , like there is lot of illegal sale and smuggling in purvanchal, bihar and nepal of bhaang.
It is also getting popular amongst the Naxalites and Maoist peopl of Bihar.

Shiraz E Hind Jaunpur Educational center of Purvanchal

Just like Shiraz was the center of learning in Persia and Central Asia , Jaunpur was the center of learning in India a few hundred years back, during the Sharqi dynasty rule and before, and hence the name Shiraz E Hind Jaunpur.
It had best textile industry , Perfume industry and Carpet industry with techniques from Central Asia and Iran weavers. It aslo

Uttar Pradesh Government should focus on developing Jaunpur railway station and connecting it with frequesnt trains to major cities of india which is currently lacking
and also the Jaunpur - Vanrasi and Jaunpur- Lucknow highway should be established and built to the national standards.
Now industries are coming up on Varanasi Jaunpur highway. A cotton mill is operational near Karanja Kala. Animal husbandry also constitutes a sector of economy .
UP govt should also provide the Varanasi Jaunpur highway with more educational institutions like ITI, polutechnique , Nursing college and engg/medical college , as significant population from Shiraz E Hind is working in the Middle East and abroad and enhancing there skills with such courses will provide more job and employment oppurtunity

The town is scattered with mosques, tombs, havelis, remnants of a unique architecture and history. There are five rivers Gomati, Sai, Varuna, basuhi and Pili (river) that make its land fertile , and govt should concentrate of developing commercial agriculture and agro industries

Famous scholar of JAunpur during sharqi perios was Muhammad Jaunpuri , son of Syed Khan of Persia.

Satharia industrial development authority has carefully planned and nurtured a self sufficient industrial area well endowed with requisite infrastructure and logistical support systems. But comparatively there are very few Industrial zones and SEZ in Jaunpur
and hence lot of improvement needs to be done in this area

Tourimsm industry has huge prospects in Jaunpur as Jaunpur is one of the larger districts in Uttar Pradesh and has the third largest population in the state. There are many places of historical significance in Jaunpur:

1.Viz.yamdigni rishi ka ashram
2.Maa sheetala shakti peeth
3.Atala Masjid (known for its fusion of Hindu and Islamic architectural style)
4.Jama Masjid
5.Bari masjid
6.Laxman ka quila
7.Shahi Quila
8.Shahi Bridge
9.Chaar angulia masjid
10.Khanquah Alia Rasheedia
11.Ranno Julu-se-Amari Ranno place(Must visit)
12.NaharPur
13.Maa Sheetala Dham AMHIT KERAKAT
14.Maa Maiher Dham Parmanatpur
15.Rauza e ali(a.s) HamzaPur jaunpur
16.Rauza Imampur Jaunpur
17.Zulqadar Manzil
18.laldarwaza masjid

Negative points : The Shiraz E Hind Jaunpur has some negative elements attached to it , like problems with Naxalites and Maoist who are fighting against the Government and feel that this region has been neglected of economic development and prosperity . And there are many shops and businesses in Shiraz E Hind Jaunpur also known for sale of spurious goods and adulterated food stuff.

DESWA

DESWA is a movie about 3 migrants from Bihar who move out in search of greener pastures to other city .

Excerpt from media

Neetu Chandra has devised huge plans for her debut production venture DESWA.
Though Bhojpuri films see a limited released in the country, DESWA would be going big.
Not just would it see a pan-India release in early 2011, it would also explore global audience with premiers taking place in different parts of the world.

"We are aiming at going global with the film", divulges Neetu whose brother Nitin Chandra is directing the film,
"The film would not just be premiered in Patna, Delhi and Lucknow but also Mauritius.
After all there are so many Biharis out there in Mauritius. DESWA would help them make a connect with their
own soil all over again. We may even go to other countries for a premier."

CHECK OUT: Neetu's learning Tamil

As per Neetu, the film would not just have dialogues in Bhojpuri but also in Hindi, English and - believe it or not - Telugu.
Moreover, the film would be dubbed in Tamil, Telugu as well as Marathi so that it reaches out to the farthest corner of the country.

"The intent here is not just to make a film, make profits and sit back and relax.
This is just a humble beginning and there are miles to go", says Neetu, "With DESWA, we would be redefining the very face of Bhojpuri cinema."

The film sees the launch of three newcomers - Deepak Singh, Kranti Prakash and Ajay Kumar. However,
Neetu would be seen only in a guest appearance and not as the leading lady.
Instead, a girl by the name of Aarti Puri is being seen in the film.
From Bollywood, it is Ashish Vidyarthi who would be seen in a major role.
Currently, DESWA is being sent to film festivals before it sees a theatrical release.

Purvanchal Agriculture sector must be improved.

The growth rate of agriculture sector in Purvanchal has been very very slow since ages . The growth rate in Agro sectors in Purvanchal must be increased for years to come.

Agriculture is the core competency of Purvanchal and all our effort should be put in place to get the Agro Growth going.

Eastern UP with its fertile Gengetic plains should become Bread Basket for country. However currently Purvanchal is facing certain challenges:

1: UP State irrigation department is in efficient in providing water supply to Purvanchal approparitely

2: Power supply by PVVNL ( Purvanchal Vidyut Board ) to rural purvanchal regions is abysmal and many villages dont even have Electricity pole and transformer installed.

The agriculture must grow at much higher rate. It has to reach a high growth level to become the bread basket of India. This will require strong commitment from all the stakeholders, Central Government, State Government led by Mayawati , local administrative staff and the farmers to work jointly. The farmers must be able to take the opportunity with open arms.

The infrastructure and control required by farmers to meet their part of commitment for 10% growth are:

1: Access to Information (7x24) Farmers even in the remotest part of Bihar should have access to pertinent information seven days a week 24 hours a day. The recent devastation in Purnea and other area shows the lack of this infrastructure. The availability to get world price of grain, weather, information on nearest market, market demand of high cash value crop and good farming techniques would give farmers a chance to play their role in achieving 10% growth.

2: Access to Market: Not all the farmers have access to market. This compromises in the income of farmer. Samridhi foundation has proved that by giving access to market the farmers will easily raise their income. The construction of roads and providing special transport service to transport farmer’s produce to reach market will enable the access to market. This will not only facilitate to get fresh quality of produce but also in larger quantity. Government should not hesitate to give special incentives to transport service provider who bring the fresh produce directly from farmers to market in an expeditious way.

3: Value Add to Produce: Bring the packaging plants to farmers, so that they can move up the food chain by providing items with value added. Processing of Dried fruits, vegetables and vacuum packed fruits and vegetables etc. will not only reduce the wastage but also produce employment while generating more revenue for farmers. This value add and reduction in waste will result in increased revenue for farmer, which will work as incentive to achieve 10 % growth.

4: Access to Water: The infrastructure must be put in place such that the excessive rain or extra dry spell will not severely hurt the crop production. This can be done by state government working very closely with central government to manage the water by constructing, dams, canals, and interconnecting rivers. Hon President Kalam has a master plan to connect the rivers of state and India. Purvanchal will become the capital of water in coming decades and century with rivers like
ganga , Gomti etc. The successful water management will stop the devastation, and the Government and state can spend money on development, rather than on repair.

5: Access to Power: Power is key to increase efficiency of farmers, The watering of crop, processing for value added, capability to access information, requires power all the time. The success to achieve 10% growth in agriculture could be severely hampered by non availability of power. Government must provide incentives for generation of clean and green renewable energy following example of Bihar's power generation from Rice husk , Chaurs by Saran renewable energy etc. This is a opportunity which is just knocking at the door. Government of UP and Purvanchal administration, should promote the clean energy power generation by providing huge incentives to set up renewable power generation in village and it’s surrounding areas.

6: Access to essential services: Farmers should be able to fill up forms, request data, file a complaint, get land registry and be able to get all the requested information. These data are so easily available in any city and should be equally easily available in even the remotest village of Bihar. The banking facility should be available to each and every farmer in their own villageby means of micro financing also Purvanchal Farmers Co-operative Union should be formed which can open new coperative Banks and coperative Dairy Boards. This will increase the productivity of Agriculture and Farmers.

7: Access to Good Health: The proactive education on health, hygiene, preventative care and early treatment will make the villagers healthier. The health clinic should be part of the school facility with a nurse present all the time, This facility should be available in every BLOCK , and it is responsibilty of Block Development Officer to ensure this facility to villagers , currently proper dispensary is available only in Jaunpur district that too doctors without proper qualification which is very very shameful. Good health will result in good attitude and more productive farmer.

8. Better Public transport : UP State Govt should ensure proper public transport facility in whole of Purvanchal region , by means of proper buses and roadways , and railways facility , also there must be proper development of State highways in Purvanchal region in the region of Varanasi - Badohi- Jaunpur - Pratapgarh - Sultanpur, and proper bridge between Varansi - MughalSarai and a proper ferry boat between Varanasi- ( mughal Sarai, Ghazipur) .
This will also facilitate goods carriers to connect Purvanchal output to sea ports and other cities.

All the above eight points are equally important to achieve 10 % growth in agriculture sector. Government has to play a key role of facilitator. It has to attract business in green and renewable power sector. It must put it’s full effort on water control. It must put programs to give incentives to entrepreneurs provide farmers the access to market. With these as objectives, nothing can stop from becoming bread basket of India.

So the time has come for each Purvanchalis to work hard. It is news like this which wakes all of us up and requires all the energy to be harnessed in making Purvanchal and Eastern UP a developed regions which starts with Agriculture sector development.
